Message from the Mayor
Celebrating Autumn and Back-to-School
As summer comes to a close and Franklin Lakes families prepare for the start of the new school year, please take the time to read Police Officer Lyon’s article on traffic safety on our website and in the Borough Bulletin.  In addition to the opening of school many great community-wide events will herald the new season.  Check out the details on our website and if it’s not posted, let us know of your organization’s activities.

Open Door
Many residents stop by my office with comments, questions and sometimes a complaint or two.  Having an open door policy and hearing from you in person, via email or phone helps to improve our communication and makes Borough Hall aware of many issues both large and small that need attention. In many cases “nipping something in the bud” allows for a much more proactive solution.  Thank you to those of you who have taken the time and welcome to those of you who have thought about passing an issue along.

Information — Fast and Free — Eblasts
In our weekly eblasts, we give you current information about our Borough.  It’s up-to-date, paperless and very importantly to our tight budget, it’s free. Please encourage your friends and neighbors to sign up so that we can reach as many residents as possible.

As always if you would like to become involved and volunteer your time or talent for our town, please contact me at mayor@franklinlakes.org or 201-891-0048 x1204 and speak with Nancy Yarish.

Enjoy the last week or summer and have a happy and safe Labor Day Weekend.

Maura
