Franklin Lakes, NJ - World Neighbors, an international development non-profit working in 14 countries across the globe, is pleased to announce Renuka Gadde to its board of trustees.
Gadde currently serves as the senior director of global health at Becton, Dickinson and Company where she leads the global immunization and injection safety initiative in developing countries, and is also responsible for increasing the use of rapid manual tests for HIV and malaria. Gadde works closely with agencies such as UNICEF, WHO, UNIAIDS, Global Fund, CDC, the American Red Cross and the University of Virginia.
“Through my work at BD, I have seen the valuable role NGO’s play in addressing the needs of under served populations,” said Gadde. “So when my coach and friend, Marty Seldman, pointed me toward World Neighbors, I was instantly excited. The vision of World Neighbors appealed to me. In fact, part of their vision is in their name itself and I was drawn by the global perspective of this organization and its leadership.”
Gadde has resided in the United States since 2002 after working in Singapore as the director of Asia Pacific for BD Medical Systems. Gadde received her bachelor’s of science degree and masters from Andhra University in Hyderabad, India.
“Renuka Gadde will be contributing her solid private sector experience, combined with a deep commitment and expertise in health issues internationally to World Neighbors board of trustees,” said Melanie Macdonald, World Neighbors President and CEO. “Now based in New Jersey but having spent the first part of her life in India, Renuka’s perspectives on World Neighbors program will be valued highly.”
Headquartered in Oklahoma City, World Neighbors is an international development organization striving to eliminate hunger, poverty and disease in the most deprived rural villages in Asia, Africa and Latin America. World Neighbors invests in people and their communities by training and inspiring them to create their own life-changing solutions through programs that combine agriculture, literacy, water, health and environmental protection. Since 1951, more than 25 million people in 45 countries have transformed their lives with the support of World Neighbors.
