“EMOTION IN MOTION: TRANSFORMING TRAUMA THROUGH THE BODY”

yogaThere is a world beyond talk therapy for trauma and mental health treatment. Please join us for a workshop on Saturday, April 24th at hOMe Yoga Experience, 370 Franklin Turnpike, Mahwah, New Jersey. We will begin at 12:30 pm and run until 3:30 pm with a light snack available mid way. We will focus on learning about trauma and healing approaches and apply the information in an experiential form through the practice of yoga.

Join Trauma Therapist Teresa Bennett-Pasquale, LCSW and Yoga Teachers Geri Topfer, E-RYT and Penni Feiner, E-RYT as they present a comprehensive workshop on trauma and the body, trauma and yoga and mind/body healing

“Emotion in Motion” provides a comprehensive introduction to mind/body health and yoga for trauma. The material from this workshop is useful and applicable for social workers, mental health counselors, psychotherapists, yoga teachers, yoga therapists, body workers, nurses, physical therapists and other medical and mental health professionals. The workshop is also open to people who have an interest in yoga, mind/body healing and understanding the interplay between the body and mind.

PRESENTER’S BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION:

Teresa Bennett-Pasquale is a graduate of New York University’s School of Social Work with a Masters in Clinical Social Work. She was honored in 2009 by the university as “Outstanding Recent Alumni” for her work in the areas of innovative and creative therapies which included yoga programming and other creative therapies for Trauma. She is currently authoring a memoir on trauma, healing and mind/body therapies and is the creator of the website www.embodymentalhealth.com and the blog “My Embodiment” at http://myembodiment.wordpress.com. As of March 2010 she will be a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).

Geri Topfer has been dedicated to the path of yoga for eight years. She blends the teachings of Kundalini Yoga, LifeForce Yoga and the alignment principals of Anusara. She brings to each heart the nourishment it needs to live more courageously and powerfully. She is the founder and director of Kula for Karma, a community of yoga teachers who offer yoga to those whose spirits have been challenged by illness, abuse, neglect, addiction and other life obstacles. Penni Feiner has seven years of experience teaching Vinyasa flow yoga and is a KRI certified Kundalini Yoga teacher. She is certified to teach Restorative and LifeForce Yoga. With respect and open hearted devotion, Penni helps her students explore their true essence and unfold to become vehicles for human growth and change.
