Ann L. Swenson, president of The Valley Hospital Foundation, died at age 61. Ms. Swenson also provided leadership in the departments of marketing, communications, and pastoral care.
Her passion for her work, and the people she served, resulted in the raising of tens of millions of dollars that helped improve the lives, and ease the suffering, of many people. The millions raised through the leadership of Ms. Swenson have been used to continually improve the clinical work of Valley Hospital, as well as helping them provide the emergency services so often called upon.
The Franklin Lakes resident had an interest that ranged beyond raising funds used purely for science, and included efforts in programs such as the Butterflies Program aimed at providing home and palliative care to children with life-threatening illnesses; and, the Journeys program which offered support to children suffering the loss of a loved one
